Domaine Carrette is built on the close partnership of a duo: Nathalie and Hervé, both driven by the same high standards and the same respect for wine. Their complementary skills bring to life cuvées that are true, precise, and vibrant.
Expertise in the service of the terroir
The 17 hectares of vines are spread between Vergisson and five other nearby villages. Hervé is responsible for the vineyard, which requires constant care throughout the year: pruning, removing and replacing dead vines, managing grass and pests, canopy work, organising the harvest… Because grape quality is the most obvious prerequisite for making great wines.
A sensitive and reasoned approach
Trained as an oenologist, Nathalie oversees the wines, from vinification to ageing, blending, and bottling. Each plot is harvested separately, and the vinification method is adapted to the grapes’ potential: vine age, terroir, ripeness, health status… In this way, each stage of vinification is tailored to make the most of the grapes and craft different cuvées, from fresh, fruity wines to more complex wines with ageing potential. All wines are vinified with indigenous yeasts, which requires meticulous monitoring during alcoholic fermentations. Ageing lasts from 6 to 18 months depending on the cuvée.

An authentic setting, ideal for discovering our cuvées and exchanging about our craft. By appointment, take the time to savour, ask your questions, and feel this deep connection between the wine, the place… and the people who make it.
A wine true to its origin
Each plot is vinified separately to reveal its uniqueness: terroir, altitude, exposure, vine age… The choice of indigenous yeasts, ageing on lees, and durations tailored to each cuvée make it possible to create expressive, precise, balanced white wines. Wines that reflect the soul of the place, without artifice, and that belong as much on a fine table as in a simple moment shared with friends.
OUR STORY
It all began with a love at first sight: for a land, a landscape, a rock. The Mâconnais, and more precisely Vergisson, became the place where everything took root. Here, between steep hillsides, dry stone walls, and vines bathed in light, a life project centered on wine, nature, and precise craftsmanship was born.
With patience and high standards, the estate grew. Parcel after parcel, vintage after vintage, a signature emerged: that of a sincere wine, deeply rooted in its terroir, crafted with care and humility.
No pursuit of volume or artifice here—just the desire to do things well, to do them honestly, and to share what the land offers us at its purest.
Today, Domaine Carrette reflects this approach: a human-sized estate, committed to respectful viticulture, where each wine is the result of a balance between intuition, observation, and precision.
